Kew terminal muziekspeler

Kew is een open source muziekspeler voor de terminal, geschreven in de programmeertaal C. Kew ondersteunt gapless afspelen, audio met 24-bit/192khz en heeft MPRIS-ondersteuning.

Kew is beschikbaar in de officiële pakketbronnen van de meeste grote Linux-distributies. Je kunt het in Debian installeren met de apt-opdracht:

Kew gebruiken

Kew start je met de volgende opdracht:

Als je Kew voor het eerst opstart, word je gevraagd of je ~/Muziek als jouw muziekbibliotheekmap wilt gebruiken. Je kunt ook een andere map kiezen.

Met de pijltoetsen selecteer je bijvoorbeeld een album. Deze kan je dan openen met Enter. Selecteer met pijltoetsen een song en druk Alt+Enter om deze af te spelen.

Met de spatie kan je pauzeren/verder spelen. Een druk op Alt+Enter gebruik je om het afspelen te stoppen. Om een song aan de afspeellijst toe te voegen, gebruik je Enter die je weergeeft met F2.

Een radiospeler (niet meer aanwezig in de recentere versie 4) van versie 3 kan je activeren via F6. Daarmee kan je zoeken naar een zender (vb: vrt).

Wie de VRT zenders kent, merkt misschien op dat de jongeren zender StuBru (niet de themazender De Tijdloze) er niet tussen staat. Probeer dan een ander zoekwoord, zoals stubr (of een deel van een woord) tot je de gewenste zender vindt.

Je kunt een zender aan je favoriete zenders toevoegen met Shift+f. In de zoekresultaten kleuren favoriete zenders groen. Al jouw favoriete zenders worden weergegeven als het zoekvak leeg is.

Om alle sneltoetsen en andere bedieningsmogelijkheden te ontdekken druk je F7 waarmee je de helptekst weergeeft/verbergt.

Leuke opties zijn bijvoorbeeld het aanpassen van de weergavekleuren met i, het in de Track weergave verbergen/weergeven van een Spectrum Analyzer met v. M.a.w. voor ieder wat wils heel wat te ontdekken.

Kew sluit je af met q of Esc.

Naast deze interactieve mogelijkheden kan je Kew ook instellen en/of beïnvloeden bij het opstarten. Zo kun je de map met de muziekbibliotheek op elk moment wijzigen met de kew opdracht met de path optie. Daarbij lijkt niets te gebeuren, maar bij het starten van Kew zonder opties merk je dat deze inderdaad de inhoud van de aangepaste map gebruikt.

kew returns the first directory or file whose name partially matches the string you provide.

Use quotes when providing strings with single quotes in them (') or vice versa.
Enter to select or replay a song.
Switch tracks with ←, → or h, l keys.
Volume is adjusted with + (or =) and -.
Space, p or right mouse to play or pause.
Shift+s to stop.
F2 to show/hide playlist view.
F3 to show/hide library view.
F4 to show/hide track view.
F5 to show/hide search view.
